Not quite a racing sound. . .

Just IMO though I don't think it quite fits the title, it sounds more like. . . I dunno, retreat to victory?. .

Whatever, regardless this is one awesome song it's so driving yet it sounds calm. I just can't get over that, I've looped is so many times!!!

Kinda repetitive but it changed enough to keep it from getting boring, I really liked the synth, what did you build it on? (or what is it called :P)

Anyway, good job, check my stuff if you don't mind.

Keep drivin,

Omega

Thanks for the feedback. Actually this is still a work in progress and its going to be modified every so often until it meets my criteria. And the name was just something so it had a name. I plan on changing it if i think of a new one.

Good work!

The beginning portion was awesome and the synth you brought in at 51 secs sounded good and went well with everything else.

The changeup you did at 1:17 was great and went right along with the rest of the song. I liked the return to the original melody after that and it really sounded great!

At 2:08 it really calmed down, it didn't sound bad, it just seemed weird compared to the rest of the song. . .
After which you went into what sounded like a different key, I dunno quite how to say, it just sounded a little out of key (literally, well musically anyway)
Enough rambling, basically it sounded like you went from upbeat to a darker tone without enough of a transition.

The ending was good and returned to the feeling of the first part of the song a little more.

I really liked it, and you did a great job with this one! 8/10 5/5 (cause its in no way a 3.30 ;)

Thanks for the epic review (probably the longest ive gotten) As for the out of key parts, Ive been trying to keep it Non-Repetetive. Most of my older songs are EXTREMELY repetetive. I actually feel like I rushed this song after having the program crash on me like 3 times while working on this song, lol. Anyway thanks for the review!

Nice work!!!

Awesome song, not too crazy, but upbeat for trance.
I like your buildup a lot, simple, but it sounded great.

The whole thing had a very driving beat, it came mostly from the background synth, it held everything together well and I really like the sound of it.

I would have liked to see another synth or two in there to switch it up.
This could easily be extended to a six minute song with an interlude or another chord movement :P not that 4 mins is bad for a song, much better than many I've see here, and also not too short, it just could have been that much more awesome if you would have done something more.

Overall great work, pretty chill and still something you could jog or work out to!

If ya don't mind check out my stuff, I'm just starting out with composition, let me know what you think and maybe when I get the full FL studios (not just the demo) we could collab on some crazy awesome music? Lemme know.

Anyway great job,

Omega

Omnivore responds:

Sure, I'll check it out... Anyway, I wouldve added some extra synths in the lead and/or background, but my CPU usage went crazy on me, thus forcing me to make the song before it crashes! Well, its better than absolutely not having the song!

Tyrian?!?

I haven't heard of that in years I loved the soundtrack. . . Though its hard to top Alexander Brandon's original track.

I really liked it, overall great job, the beat at the end was a bit off and the synth you brough in at 24 seconds or so was too quiet, I could hardly hear it and I knew to listen for it, it's a lot louder in the original, your mix your call, but I'd like it better louder.

Also, if you happen to have the CD case if you flip the logo Tyrian upside down it is Tyrian backwards and forwards, I hadn't noticed that till a few years back it looks epic. . .

Nice and chill

I like this a lot, its simple not really elegant but very enjoyable.

I think this is really trance, but it's sometimes a fine line. . . no points docked for my opinion of genre, good music is good music :P

Most of your synths were kinda samey, not so much that it gets boring but it could be more interesting if you threw in some new timbres. . .

Nice work overall, I like your style of music!

LetterKilleth responds:

You are right, it needs to be re-made with more dynamics. Thanks for feedback!

Great WIP!

I really liked it, and the wobble you brought in sounded great!

I didn't like the change at 1:36, it was a bit abrupt. . .
Instead of going straight to that, why not mix the wobble in with the first piano melody, and then progress to that change, it would be smoother and would add some filler time.

JK XD but its usually a good idea to build onto your main theme before changing it up.

Great work so far, looking forward to a completed version!

(Check out my stuff sometime, if it ever gets approved :P, guess that's part of being new. . .)

joemamabeach responds:

You are right about 1:36 didn't notice it at first. Will adjust. Thank you!

Not bad. . .

I liked it, and you instrumentation was excellent.

Your first verse seemed out of cadence, the way you were speaking was out of sync with the song.
The lyrics were good, and so were the instruments just the way you sing your verses was a little off sounding. Some of them could have been sung quicker and it could have been really great, the chorus is a good example, it sounds great.

You have a good voice, just work on your cadence a bit.

I really enjoyed it, good job overall,

DJVigil responds:

thank you for your review Omega, I will certainly take your words into consideration!

Pro quality!

Awesome job, everything sounds great!

Can't really come up with anything I dislike about this.

The ending was good, you can loop it or stop it right there. That's hard to do.

I didn't get boring at all, you switched it up enough that it was interesting but not so much you couldn't follow the main melody.

Nice beat!

pretty good overall

The one at 1:28 had an awesome and had a "fighting for the lost" feeling like a sad but intense fight scene!

There were some others that were pretty interesting but I really liked that one the best, some of the dub tracks were sounding really good too.

Impressive

I like the instrument selection and the lyrics were cool and well sung too (that's important)

The chorus, was hard to understand, it was very quiet.
And your lyrics could be bettered by also making them a little louder so they stuck out over the music

other than that, awesome song great work!

SoulSecure responds:

I mixed it that way on purpose. I didn't want vocals prevailing over the music that I poured my heart into. The vocals are there to compliment the music, rather than the other way around. Of course, you're hearing it through computer speakers, not a stereo system (which it is mixed for).

Also, I put the lyrics in the description because I knew that people don't usually understand the lyrics in my songs the first time they hear them.

Just writing music, I hope to produce someday, so check out my stuff will ya?
